The Wedding
The marriage ceremony is an ANCIENT ritual; dating back to ancient Roman times. Customs of rings, veils, flowers, bridesmaids, old shoes, rice, wedding cake, engagement ring, third finger-left land, bride’s handkerchief, blue satin garter, trousseau, white bride’s dress, something blue and carrying the bride across the threshold each carry their rich HISTORY into weddings of today.

Celebrate your ceremony with full knowledge of this important rite of passage at Jackson Farm where lifetime marriage commitments have been kept for 5 generations.

In the late 18th century, somewhere in Scotland, Tom Jackson's great-great-great-grandfather and his best friend married sisters in a double ceremony. For their wedding trip, the newlyweds boarded a ship to America. Before they reached American shores, a hurricane caused the women to vow that if they ever reached dry land, they would never sail again. When the boat reached the Carolina coast, they took up land and stayed. Since then, Jackson Farms has stayed in the family.
